    Quoting another song is fun for the artist and more knowledgeable fans.

    I remember seeing Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers insert a verse from Ray Charles' "Hit the Road Jack" into "Breakdown"... Totally reversing the perspective of the song.

    I loved it. Most of the audience around me, too young to remember Ray as the source, was wondering what the old guy (then 33) was all excited about.
