Getting Personal

If as the late House Speaker Tip O'Neill said "All politics is local," the equivalent statement has to be that "All economics is personal." And it gets very personal if a news organization, or when any politician, cites you by name as a bad example!





The Unemployed Who Aren't Counted

The official unemployment rate does not count a huge number of Americans: People who are out of a job and have given up looking. With millions of people out of work and competing with each other for open jobs, some portion will call it quits – at least for the time being – and cease searching for employment all together.

So why don't they count? And how would the numbers look if they did?
