Where was I?

1969 - NY State Thruway traveling from Bloomington, IN to Boston
1979 - Negotiating move from New York City to KGB-FM San Diego
1989 - created all animal "Livestock" parody, stage announcer: Mr. Ed
1999 - created "Avocado Stock" ad for Carpinteria, CA festival
2009 - All I got left are my dreams, and a sense that my generation probably sacrificed too many other values for property values.

  2. A teen finds a flyer for Carpinteria's annual Avocado Festival and asks his dad if it'd be cool to go. The dad reflects on going to his first festival, and in flashbacks of exaggerated memory, he addresses his son's questions as if he'd gone to Woodstock, punctuated by quotes, misquotes and parodies of lines from the film... Wavy Gravy on food ("Keep feeding each other... "), Stephen Stills on music ("This is our 2nd gig. We're scared 'pit less.'"), the farmer who lauds the crowd ("3 days of peace, love and guacamole...") and the crowd chanting "avocado" over the familiar rhythm of Woodstock's rain chant to invoke better weather.

It was fun to think up, make and hear on the air.
