World's Oldest Water

Normally water circulates, but sometimes the cycle is interrupted and it stays put for a very long time... Even ages.

Scientists examining water that seeped into the rocks of a South African mine found indications it has been trapped there, possibly for millions of years, and supports microbes without light in the deepest ecosystem yet discovered.
