UK Chancellor George Osborne derives political satisfaction from his party's opposition having kept the British Pound and not joining the "euro zone." On the other hand, Mr. Cowen's Irish government may well soon fall, as a prideful people express bitter resentment at needing help from their former occupier and historical enemy.
