As NTSB investigators question the flight crew, news that Northwest 188 not only overshot its destination, but could have been shot down.
A look back at Saturday's CBS Evening News reveals that post-911 Air Force intercept protocols placed a flight of F-16 Falcons on alert.
The two pilots from the infamous Northwest Flight 188, with over 31,000 combined flight hours, separately told investigators that they did not fall asleep, but admitted being preoccupied with their laptops.

Whether scheduling flights, their DirecTV DVRs or even watching movies on those laptops, pilot inattention to the task at hand could be fatal for an entire flight... And should be fatal for their careers.
